Local History
Started by founders Bobby Scott and John Swafford in 1976, Scott’s Furniture was originally called Swafford’s Furniture for 20 years. Some Cleveland natives even still call it that even to this day! In 1996, Bobby Scott bought out John Swafford’s stake in the company and the rest is history. Bobby started the football program at Cleveland High School and left there to take the leap of getting into the furniture business and to start construction on the massive showroom. Bobby and wife Jeannine Scott (who just celebrated her 90th birthday) ran the company for years and now their daughter Sandee and grandsons Scott and Hunter Vest are keeping it going with an incredible office, sales, delivery, and managerial team. All their mattresses and box springs are custom made in Celina, Tennessee and shipments are received weekly.
